Argan Oil
Extracted from the nut within the fruit of the Moroccan Argan tree, for centuries this precious oil has been a workhorse in the maintenance of healthy, hydrated skin in harsh desert conditions. Rich in fatty acids, it reduces the signs of aging by toning and regenerating the skin, leaving it firmer and supremely moisturized.
Marula Oil
Marula oil, as far as we’re concerned, might as well be called “Miracle Oil”. This highly-absorbable and incredibly hydrating oil is extracted from the kernel inside the fruit from the Marula tree in Namibia. Considered a delicacy as food, its value as a skin conditioner and reparative is beyond measure. Its fatty acids and omegas fight free radical damage from sun and pollution helping erase signs of aging. As a powerfully-hydrating anti-microbial it is great for acne and all other kinds of skin blemishes. It can even reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars while also helping to balance all types of skin.
Apricot Oil
This valuable, softening and anti-aging oil is extracted from the kernel within the pit of the apricot. Rich in linoleic, oleic and other essential fatty acids, apricot oil also contains sterolins which increase the production of collagen while decreasing the presence of aging spots. Also high in vitamins C and E, apricot oil absorbs easily into dry or mature skin helping maintain its elasticity.
Rosehip Oil
Rosehip oil has long been used as a skin rejuvenator. Containing a wealth of antioxidants such as Retinol (Vitamin A), lycopene, beta carotene, and Omegas 6 and 9, it increases elastin and collagen while reducing the pigmentation that comes with aging and sun damage.
Evening Primrose Oil
The magic of this Central American oil (used since ancient times to achieve younger, healthier skin) lies in its high concentration of of Gamma-linoleic acid (GLA). In addition to its lovely scent, evening primrose oil’s GLA content makes it a great combatant of acne, wrinkles, abrasions and pretty much any other skin issue you want to throw its way.
Calendula Oil
This oil, which contains high levels of plant-based antioxidants called flavanoids, is a terrific emollient that also protects skin from the cell-damage of free-radicals. An anti-fungal and antibacterial antiseptic, calendula oil also has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe skin ravaged by sun and pollution.
Olive Oil
Cameron says, “When I was working in an olive grove in Crete I was shocked when our team passed around a bottle of olive oil to clean tree sap off our hands. It was amazing how well it worked.” Indeed, olive oil has been used for thousands of years as an antibacterial cleanser. The ancients also knew about its powerful moisturizing capabilities which do wonders on eczema and other types of dry, cracked skin.
Baobab Oil
This precious oil comes from the seeds in the fruit of a thousand year old African tree that blooms only once per year. The flowers on this night-blooming tree are pollinated by bats that help turn the flowers to fruit. The oil harvested from the Baobab tree absorbs beautifully, leaving no residue but loading your skin up with moisturizing Vitamins A, D, E, and F. It’s also a tough fighter of free-radicals giving it strong anti-aging characteristics.
Pomegranate Oil
A staple of anti-aging creams, pomegranate oil gives skin a more youthful appearance by stimulating the outer layer skin cells known as ‘keratinocytes’. Pomegranate oil also helps fight skin aging due to its high concentration of a powerful anti-inflammatory Omega 5 fatty acid known as ‘punicic acid’. This firming oil, will promote collagen production and is very helpful in dealing with hyper-pigmentation (brown spots) caused by sun exposure. Pomegranate oil’s beneficial properties, too numerous to mention, also include hormonal balancing in men and women for improved skin texture, soothing of psoriasis and eczema, and acne prevention.
Neroli - Orange Flower Oil (Citrus aurantium)
Known as Neroli oil, this product of the flower from the bitter orange tree is positively jam-packed with vitamins and minerals, helps soften wrinkles and improves skin elasticity, and has an aroma that is, in a word, heavenly. As you might guess, it has tons of Vitamin C and is excellent for restoring youthful radiance to the skin.
Seabuckthorn Oil
This highly reparative oil has been used superficially for generations to heal cuts, scrapes, burns and lesions. It is easily absorbed and rich with strong skin conditioners like beta-carotene, phytosterol, Vitamin E, and carotenoid. The oil is an incredibly rich source of beta carotene which is very helpful in preventing premature skin ageing by acting as an antioxidant; a substance that reduces oxygen damage caused by UV light, pollutions and other environmental hazards like smoking. Beta carotene can make your skin less sensitive to the sun and sunscreen more effective. It is a very effective ingredient in treating skin conditions like dry skin, eczema and psoriasis. Seabuckthorn oil also creates a terrific moisture-locking lipid barrier which helps skin stay hydrated and supple in the face of drying sun and environmental pollutants.
Jasmine Flower Oil
Extracted from flowers picked through the night when their aromatic intensity is at its peak, Jasmine oil is a great skin softener. Perhaps even more amazing, however, is the fact that jasmine oil is loaded with esters which are known by aromatherapists the world over as the most relaxing
chemical compounds found in any essential oils. The jasmine and neroli oils in Apothecary 90291’s Luminous Face Oil make it a truly great-smelling face oil you will look forward to using every day.
